The main difference is the duration of time that the product will last on your vehicle. Wax only stays on your vehicle for a few months, where ceramic coating can last anywhere from 1 year to 7 years or more depending on the formula. So you get more benefits out of ceramic coating, for a much longer period than the minimal benefits of waxing your vehicle.

Unless the vehicle is brand new, there is most likely some additional preparation going to be involved, such as 1-step or 2-step paint correction. If your vehicle’s paint has scratches and swirls, then paint correction is required before ceramic coating is applied to the surfaces. The end goal is to make your vehicle look as new as possible, then protect that status.
